Innovation and dedication are keys to progress in our national parks and protected areas’ conservation. The Kenton Miller Award for Innovation in Protected Areas Management celebrates individuals who are taking bold steps in protecting these most valued resources by recognizing their invaluable work with a 5,000 USD grant and accompanying citation. The WCPA is honored to present this award every two years to highlight success in PA governance and management and inspire us all to keep working to achieve a Protected Planet. The next award will be presented at the IUCN World Parks Congress 2014.
To support the Kenton Miller Award with a donation, the IUCN have now set up a simple system for donations via a fundraising website called GlobalGiving.
We have set up an overall target of $50,000 that would ensure the sustainability of this Award programme into the future. Sign up and help us grow this fund and contribute directly to the recognition of key people who are making significant strides in protected areas.
We are also thrilled to announce that your donations will all be matched, 1 for 1, by the Chino Cienega Foundation! This means that for every $1 you give, the impact of your gift will be doubled, at no additional cost.
For more information about the award, please visit the CEC website or WCPA website.
With your support, we can continue to celebrate innovation and dedication in protected areas (PA) management worldwide.
