As this is related, likely of interest to many CSVPA members: ourvoices.net goes live 5pm GMT on Tuesday 6th May, coinciding with the event happening at St Paul’s Cathedral, London where the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres will be speaking. Christiana has the herculean task of bringing the world to a meaningful climate agreement in Paris December 2015, so this is a rare opportunity to hear how it is from the top, and also to show her our support.
ourvoices.net aims to build a BIG number of people around the world who sign up to reflect and pray for world leaders to give them as much ambition, courage, generosity and flexibility in reaching a meaningful deal. People who sign up to ourvoices.net join the virtual journey to Paris, which we aim to make inspiring, fun and informative. The main focal point will be inviting people to join moments of prayer and reflection to strengthen the moral and spiritual side of the process. We will also be highlighting the fantastic work of faith-based environment and development organisations around the world. Many believe that a global climate deal will not be reached without stronger moral resolve among the negotiators.
The goal of ourvoices.net is to make sure they know about the one BIG number of ‘prayer pledgers’ and we believe this is a powerful way to get the moral message across. We hope you agree.
Thanks again for helping… here’s to Paris December 2015!
