From Brazil we share a recent publication of the article entitled Sítios Naturais Sagrados: valores ancestrais e novos desafios para as políticas de proteção da natureza. The article is based on bibliographical research (with many references of authors related to the CSVPA and its publications) and contextualizes the international panorama and the ongoing ways for the recognition and safeguarding of sacred natural sites, particularly in relation to nature protection strategies. The main objective of this article was to divulge the history of this debate and the initiatives in progress in a text accessible to the Brazilian public (and other Portuguese speaking countries).
